Working closely with Microsoft, I drafted a proposal which explains the rationale for why an Advisory Council is essential to the long term success of the .NET Foundation. The proposal contains a detailed charter which outlines the mission, composition, structure, and governance model for the Council and its Members. The proposal was recently approved by the .NET Foundation Board of Directors and was published today for public review and feedback.
Whether you are involved in open source or not, I encourage everyone to get involved in the review process to ensure that the .NET Foundation is well equipped to satisfy the needs of the .NET community long term.
